Vodacom Business and Google partner
2008-02-24
Google announced that Vodacom Business is its first Google Enterprise customer in South Africa. Vodacom Business recently partnered with Google on the use of its Enterprise services, the first partnership of its kind in South Africa.
Google Enterprise aims to organize information better and make it more accessible to enterprises and enterprise customers. The Google division currently has 10 000 search customers worldwide, and boasts over 100 000 geospatial customers and apps domains.
• Google Search plans to organize and make information searchable across an organisation and create a single point of access to all corporate information.
• Geospacial services from Google organize information in a 3G, geographical format for easier and more relevant consumption.
• Google Apps brings standard services like 25 GB mailboxes, calendar, spreadsheets and other applications to enterprises.
Google said that their Enterprise Service has no real competition in the market today, and it is therefore difficult to compare prices. The company did not want to discuss tariffs in an open platform, but they did say that they believe they provide great value for money.
Vodacom Business was recently launched at Sun City, and they came out all guns blazing, declaring that they aim to become the leader in the converged telecoms services market.
